The Belfield Townhomes consist of three modular structures, designed to provide affordable housing for low-income residents. Each unit has four bedrooms, three full bathrooms and on-site parking. The super-insulated units prevent heat loss and are equipped with photovoltaic panels; while an energy recovery system uses the conditioned exhaust air to heat, or cool, the incoming outdoor air. This project received the 2014 International Passive House award presented by the Passive House Institute (PHI) in Darmstadt, Germany and a 2nd Place Award in Affordable Housing by the Passive House Institute US (PHIUS).
